Mykel Parish, born Mykel Chukwuyerem Ajaere, is a prominent figure in the African cinema industry. He is the founder of the Pan-African Film Consortium, the most significant community of African cinema stakeholders, and the CEO of the Pan-African Film Development Foundation. In addition, he founded the Nollywood Travel Film Festival and co-founded the Pan-African Development Summit. Mykel also serves as the Executive Director of the Pan-African Arts, Culture and Tourism Institute Canada, making significant strides in promoting African culture globally.
In his illustrious career, Mykel has consulted for numerous organizations and institutions, including Diplomatic missions, the African Union, and the Berlinale Africa Hub. He is a board member of Generations Cameroon, the Pan-African Chambers of Business, and Invest Africa in Georgia, USA. Recently inducted into the Arab Africa Economic Parliament, Mykel has traveled to over 80 countries, promoting African cinema and serving on juries for over 30 international film festivals. He currently resides in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, where he runs Whitepoint Media Africa, a creative agency dedicated to advancing African media and culture.
